Turning the multi-currency feature in QuickBooks off is an option

Multicurrency helps to buy and sell products in the vendor and customer currency, track, manage and analyze global business activities in multiple currencies. It also helps create reports or documents in the desired currency while maintaining a price list for each currency.

Multi-currency supports multi-national strategies and currency conversion, a price list for each currency, buying and selling in the home currency and keeping no limit on currencies used.

One must be sure that the feature is needed before turning it on, as it cannot be turned off once on, when a customer or supplier is added in a foreign currency, the currency that they would be billed or paid in must be selected before clicking ‘Save’ as the currency cannot be changed after they have been added.

Your financial reports will show income and expenses in the local currency and anything entered as a foreign currency will be shown as the converted local currency amount using the exchange rate. Any gain or loss from the exchange will be automatically added into the ‘Exchange Gain or Loss’ Other Income account.

If multi-currency tends to be an issue, E-Tech’s Multi-Currency Removal Service pledges to remove the multi-currency feature from QuickBooks and convert the file to a single currency.
